A patient where I work who is 27 yrs older than me, keeps flirting with me...asking me why I dont have a boyfriend ect..., I'm a pretty shy person, the last Time I broke up with someone I did it in a note...And I dont know what to do in this situation...He asked for my number today, and I told the truth and said I hate talking on the phone...I am always nice to him so I am worried He thinks were on the same page. Hes so much older than me and fresh out of prison, I have a feeling what hes after....I just dont know how to say no where things wont be awkward every day...how does this person make you feel does this pserson strike you in interesting way or does his past make you unearved. my answer is to confront him with gaurd of course and flat out ask him what he wants from you and if he wants whatcha think he wants then ignore him but if his past is still upseeting to you then clearly state your just want to be doctor and patient or something similar i hope this helpsYou could always just say that it is against policy to date a patient if he becomes even more bold. If that is a lie, then tell him that you don't feel comfortable getting romantically involved with a patient because it will not reflect positively on your career.Fresh out of prison? Don't worry about what he'll think, keep safe and confident. There are no men out there that will go kill themselves after a slight but final rejection.
Trust...he probably has no problem finding dates...yeah i would stay clear of that guy, just tell him your not ready to date for now. But really, why are you so afraid to date and get to know other people? you have to take risk and come out your shell.
