I've heard not to feed your dog any corn. This is Rachel Rays, and I realized later, it has corn meal in it. I don't want my dog to get sick or die from it.I have a Shi-poo.Corn meal is used as a filler and is not easily digested my dogs. There is a really good blog that will not only tell you what is in dog food and even compare popular brands but it will tell you really useful information about what is good for them and how to make your own which I do and is a lot cheaper. I have a 15 year old dog that looks 8 or 9 because I have been following that advice. He is so much healthier and has no more allergy issues. http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseac...
Also this site is good too www.pet-grub.com Grains are not good for dogs and cats and wheat and grain are the top worst ones for allergies etc. I have ZERO idea why a human cook is putting out a pet food. That is a money grab if ever I saw. Try brands like Wellness, Canidae, Fromm, Orijen and Merrick. They are low in grains or have no grains and the grains they use are much easier to digest as well as having premium ingredientsCorn is used as a filler and has little nutritional value. The more corn used in a dog food, the less meat that has to be used. And corn is much cheaper than meat. Look at the cheaper brands of dog food and you will see corn is the number one ingredient listed. The more expensive the food, usually the less corn.I know dog food is very bad for all reptiles regardless of what it contains, they aren't able to digest the fats properly.
Sorry just your question was in reptiles so I assumed it was yet another person feeding a lizard incorrectly and clicked on it#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
