How do I control the keep-alive garbage octet in the TCP layer (see
RFC1122) of Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP? I can set the
intervals
using WSAIOCTL, but Windows seems to always send the optional garbage
octet and provides no way to turn it off. I did find info about the
DHCP server option, but not for configuring the TCP
interface on an
individual machine. I will be satisified with either a programming
(API) solution, or an operating system
configuration/administration/registry setting solution.
