What is the video format of the videos downloaded from xbox live marketplace?I am going to use this trailer for NCAA Football 07 as my example.
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/marketplace/trailers.htm
ASX is not a video format. If you look in the properties of Windows
Media play while a video is playing on your PC from the xbox live
marketplace it will show something like this:

An asx file isn't actually a media file. It does not contain the
video itself. It is simply a redirector for the streaming of video
from the web.
Read this for more info as ASX files.
http://www.w3schools.com/media/media_windowsformats.asp
This is the contents of the above mentioned file (vidgttvncaafootball07001hi.asx):
GTTV: NCAA Football 07
<>(c) 2006 Microsoft Corporation>
Xbox.com
GTTV: NCAA Football 07
As you can see the actual file being played is a .wmv file.
